Tonight Tyson got his first "ow-we". It was a pretty bad one. I mean, yeah he has fallen before and just bruised up. But this one was bad. We were at the church. I had just finished with Young Womens and Dave dropped him off before he went to an Elders Quorum meeting. Tyson was playing by the piano. He tried to pull himself up near one of the piano legs and he slipped. One arm went through the legs of the piano and he banged him mouth and nose on the leg. Oh, my poor boy was screaming so bad. I picked him up and he had a bloody nose and he split open his lip. And I wanted to comnfort him but he didn't want me right then. It was heart wrenching watching him suffer and not being able to help him Tyson did calm down relatively quickly. As soon as we got home I busted out the camera. He didn't want his picture taken so these pictures are not the best. But my little boy is doing great now and is sleeping peacefully. What a trooper.
And this is a random picture from a couple of days ago. Tyson loves to play in his bouncer chair, only backwards is more fun.
Dinner last night was hilarious. I made baked potato soup and it was super yummy. Tyson loves to eat grownup food by himself. So we gave him his own bowl of soup, without a spoon because he doesn't have any interest in trying to use it yet. After Dave and I were done eating we looked over and Tyson had soup everywhere. And the best part was Tyson was licking his bowl clean. Too bad we didn't get a video of that. So I must have made pretty good soup. Here are pictures of the aftermath.
I love this picture because you get a pretty good view of Tyson's top teeth. There are 3 on top and 1 more is coming in on the right.
After dinner we rushed to the library to check out some books. We got there and the parking lot was empty. Then I realized it was Veteran's Day and everything was closed. So we went to McDonald's instead for some ice cream. Tyson fell asleep on the way home. He was dead to the world. And he kind of looked like a fish.
A video of Dave trying to rouse him. It didn't work.
So has anyone noticed how good the weather has been? I think that since its so warm now its just only going to stay colder longer. Anyway, so with such good weather I have been trying to get Tyson outside to play a little. You know take advantage of the good weather before it turn ugly. The other day he let me put his beanie on and he kept it there. He looked so cute that I could not resist taking pictures. He is getting so big and handsome.
And here is a random picture of Tyson when Dad was playing with him.
So I have included some pictures of new things Tyson is doing. They are totally random, but that is how I find Tyson most of the time. He is definitely talking more and more. And he is becoming a little sneak. We love this little boy.
Here he learned how to sag his pants.
Just a cute one of him saying hello to his Mama.
When Dad comes home at night and takes Tyson up into his arms the first thing Tyson reaches for is Dave's hat. He always pretends he wants to put it on but as soon as we do he wants to take it off.
We had pulled this hat down for Halloween and Tyson is fascinated by it all the time.
Here is a random video of Tyson cracking up when Dave sticks a goldfish on his tongue. So weird but cute.
Tyson's very best friend is Josh Bjarnson. These boys are 4 days apart and have been having play dates since the day they came home (almost). Tyson and Josh are so fun to watch when they play together. They talk baby talk to one another, they wrestle each other, share toys, and keep each other occupied for hours. Yesterday Josh came over to play for almost the whole day and it was great. As I had tons of stuff to do it was wonderful that Tyson and Josh were able to keep themselves busy by playing together and crawling everywhere. Tyson was showing Josh all of his toys. Today I wish that Josh was here again because Tyson won't let me do anything because he wants to play. I love to play but there is also dishes to do, bathrooms to clean, and so much more. Friends are so important in life. I am so grateful that Tyson has such a good friend like Josh.
This is their durmming session. I tried to get in on video but of course they stopped right when I tried to film.
Halloween day felt just like a normal day. Maybe its because most of our celebration was the night before at the murder mystery dinner. But that night our ward did a Trunk or Treat. It seemed like half of Logan showed up. Dave saw people from work who live on the other side of the valley. Oh well. We had the traditional chili and cornbread which was really yummy with the weather starting to turn a little chilly. When the kids started going around to all of the cars Dave and I ran out of candy fast. We thought that one bag of dum-dums would be enough. Oh how wrong we were. We were out of candy within 3 mins of the kids coming along. I guess we know for next year. I felt kind of weird about taking Tyson around to all the cars because he is still young for the candy and I didn't want people to feel like Dave and I were being snobby and take their candy. So Tyson didn't get a lot of candy either. But it was fun to dress up in our costumes. After the Trunk or Treat we headed over to Aubrey and Tyler's again to watch Hocus Pocus. What is Halloween without Hocus Pocus? It was great seeing the movie again. Overall, we had an exciting weekend with friends, costumes, and lots of yummy sweets.
Our pumpkin trunk.
I thought the sun shining through makes Tyson look really strong like the real Superman.
The Dread Pirate Roberts (from Princess Bride) and Superman.
I spent a lot of the night explaining to people that I was a fortune teller.
This was Tyson's impression of flying.
This is a picture of Graham, a boy that I watch. He dressed up as Crush from Finding Nemo. He was so sweet. Graham came up to Tyson and gave him a sucker. That was the only candy Tyson had all night. Thanks Graham.
And this is Tyson enjoying his one Halloween treat. Needless to say Tyson screamed bloody murder when we took it away from him.
Halloween this year was the best I have had in awhile. Aubrey and Tyler Hartley invited us to a murder mystery dinner that they put together. I had never been apart of one before and it was so much fun. Dave and I found our costumes at the wonderful DI. Tyson ended up coming with us. We could not find a sitter. I was worried that he was not going to behave but he was an angel that night. If we were not feeding him he was sleeping in his pack n play. It was a wonderful night and Aubrey and Tyler did a great job putting it all together. We had dinner in a pumpkin, pumpkin bread, pumpkin cheese cake, and so much more food. Oh so good. Happy Halloween!!!
Madam Aretha Garlique with her minion Tyson (I was a fortune teller and my crystal ball was a candy jar). Check out the spider pjs.
Balihi, the stage performer (he was suppose to look like Frankinstein but we could find no masks or spikes for his costume; it was very disheartening).
Here are some shots of the docorations. Way cute.
Tyson was enjoying some pumpkin bread and dancing, a video of it at the end.
All the characters.
Aretha Garlique and Balihi, the Rogersandhannerstein Monster (Dave and Kylee)
The mummy of King Aldrinktotat and Angela Deth, DDS (Kyle and Kaitlyn)
Glumda, the Wicked Witch of Depressed and Asthmadeus, the Prince of Dimness (Ty and Melanie)
Hannibal Schecter and Lizzie Bordeaux (Tyler and Aubrey)
We are currently in Logan, UT. We are Utah State Alumni and waiting for the next step in our lives. Go AGGIES!!!
Our Little Man!!!
This is Tyson!!! He was born December 22. 2008 in Logan, UT. Tyson was 8 pounds 11 ounces. He was the perfect Christmas present. Tyson loves to look around and explore the world around him. We are so grateful to have him here as part of our family.
It all started at Maple View Apartments in Logan, UT where Dave and I were neighbors. All I can remember the first time I met Dave was the missionary-part in his hair and his knee high socks. I wanted to throw up. But from then on Dave and I became very good friends. By the end of the summer we started dating. After a couple of break-ups and getting back together, we decided to tie the knot. We were sealed in the Las Vegas Temple August 18, 2007. Since then life has been full of twists and turns but life could not be any better for us.
